2 specimens, one adult and one larva, of a new genus and species of blind cave salamander from Rock House Cave, Missouri. The discovery of this numerable forms is one of the more important herpetological events of recent years, as it is the only true salamander so far discovered, which is blind having the skin closed over the eyes. It has been named [[underlined]] Typhlotriton voclaeus [[/underlined]], and a preliminary description, with figures of the animal, is now going through the process to appear shortly in the "Proceedings" of the museum (Gift).
