Accessions and Promotions of Civil Service Employees

Comparative analysis of accession and promotions is not feasible for fiscal year 1985 and previous fiscal years due to the revised data collection methods and format. Table 18, however, shows the following:

[[bullet point]] An analysis of fiscal year 1985 Institution-wide accessions shows that there was a significant number of minority representation among new employees, 239 (47.7%). Minority men accounted for 159 (31.7%) and minority women accounted for 80 (16.0%). Nonminority women accounted for 132 (26.4%). A total of 212 (42.3%) of the accessions were women.

[[bullet point]] The overall number and percentage of promotions Institution-wide shows that minorities received 196 (36.0%). Minority men received 133 (24.5%); minority women received 63 (11.6%); nonminority women received 173 (31.9%).
