attorneys, architects, engineers, contract specialists and building managers all work to insure that applicants', employees' and visitors' rights are protected. Other employees serve, in addition to their regular duties, as complaint counselors, equal opportunity officers, cooperative education and upward mobility supervisors, and 504 program coordinators. In addition, many museum administrators and curatorial staff members support the programs through special projects and the attention they pay to equal opportunity principles.

Complaints

In fiscal year 1985 fourteen complaints including one reprisal action were filed. This was a decrease of 17.7% over fiscal year 1984 when seventeen complaints including one reprisal were filed. A total of 23 complaints were on hand in various stages of administrative processing. There were two appeals, and three cases in the courts at the close of fiscal year 1985.

The more frequently cited bases for complaints were race/color (Black), followed by age, sex (male), and handicap. The most frequently cited allegations or issues were promotions followed by terminations during the probationary period.
