years the Smithsonian will seek funds totalling $16 to $17 million fir the acquisition of the high-bay storage system and for additional cabinets to complete the move, accommodate growth, and meet the storage needs of other Smithsonian museums.

[[underlined]]Other Major Construction Projects[[/underlined]]

[[underlined]]American History Building.[[/underlined]] Major repairs to the exterior of the building, comprised of replacing the fourth and fifth floor roof, replacing windows, and facade recaulking, were estimates to cost $2,161,000. Bids for the work were received on November 19, 1985 and significantly exceeded the available funds. Currently the bids and requirements are being reviewed to develop alternative solutions so that work can proceed within current available funds. A decision will be forthcoming before the end of January.

[[underlined]]Anacostia Neighborhood Museum.[[/underlined]] The construction of the Annex Building is eighty-five percent complete, and completion is expected in accordance with the scheduled contract date of March 27, 1986.

[[underlined]]Arts and Industries Building.[[/underlined]] Phase IV of the Exterior Restoration project is on schedule. When completed in January, the north and south towers southeast pavilion, and associated entry ways will have been restored. The work will have involved new windows, doors, roofing, downspouts, gutters, metal ornaments, and masonry repairs. Phase V work is being finalized for negotiations with the contractor in January; this will permit a continuation of the program without interruption and maintain the scheduled 1987 completion of the project.

[[underlined]]Renwick Gallery of Art.[[/underlined]] The exterior repair project will be completed December 31, 1985. Contract "punch list" and any
