SPECIMEN / BANK OF COMMUNICATIONS / JULY 1ST 1913 / TEN DOLLARS / LOCAL CURRENCY / PAYABLE TO BEARER / NO. A344046 / ANHUI / AMERICAN BANK NOTE CO. NEW YORK / [[Z.M.CHOW?]]

Transcription Notes:
This note was issued by the "Bank of Communications", one of the largest bank in China from late 19th century to 1940s. The issuing year is 1913 or the second year of the Republic of China. The denomination is ten Yuan and is noted at the bottom that the bearer of this note will be exchanged with ten silver dollars if demanded. An overprint of "Anhui" is found at the bottom of this note which sounds like this note is issued by the branch of "Bank of of Communications" in Anhui (north west of Nanking) and properly means to be honored in that province only. Also the overprint of "specimen" in Chinese and English are done on the front and reverse side of the note, respectivly.
