Transcription Notes:
A 10 yuan note from the "provincial Bank of Chihli" issued in 1926. Chihili is the name of today's "heBei" province, which was and is still the political center of China from AD 1200s. This bank was reorganized in 1913 from the Official Tientsin bank (formed in 1902). The most interest point of this note is that the city name of Tientsin (on back side) and 天津 (on obverse side) were blacked out. In stead, the city name of Hsuchow and 徐州 were used. It is to be noted that Hsuchow is not located in Chihli. Probably this means that there was a bank branch in Huschow.
