Theatre quiz

WHAT A SEASON! Now that 2001-2002 season has officially begun, we thought it would be a great opportunity to look back at the theatre season past. And what an exciting season it was! With an eclectic array of new plays and musicals, plus a slate of exhilarating revivals, last season was the most jam-packed in recent memory. Pictured below are some of the Tony winners from 2000-2001 season. Can you identify the award-winning shows and/or performers? Clues are provided, and answers are at the bottom of the page.

1. [[image - actors from the play]] Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of Dale Wasserman's play won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. The intense drama stars Gary Sinise (left) as con man/mental hospital patient Randle P. McMurphy.

2. [[image - a dancing scene from the play]] The revival of this all-singing, all-tap-dancing musical nabbed a Tony for Best Revival of a Musical. Christine Ebersole, pictured here with David Elder, won the Tony for the Best Leading Actress in a Musical.

3. [[image - Mary-Louise Parker]] Mary-Louise Parker won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a play for her role in this David Auburn work, which was voted Best Play of 2001.
