CHARLES SANFORD

CHARLES SANFORD, the conductor, most recently wielded the baton for "Sadie Thompson," "Sons O' Fun" and "Hellzapoppin." He was also assistant to Alexander Smallens, musical director of "Porgy and Bess." For years, beginning with the time when, in knee-pants, he played the violin to accompany silent movies, he was connected with the orchestras of various major motion picture houses. As district manager of music for R.K.O. in Western New York, he also trained orchestra leaders in many cities. His first post, at the "mature" age of seventeen, was that of assistant conductor at the New York Hippodrome. He is a graduate of the Institute of Musical Art, now known as the Julliard School.

AL WHITE, Jr.

After staging Mask and Wig shows for the University of Pennsylvania, AL WHITE JR., became a successful "single" in vaudeville. Recent musicals for which he has devised the dances include "Star and Garter" and last season's revival of "The Connecticut Yankee." He has also directed the floor shows for such night spots as the Paradise, the International Casino, and the Royal Palms, in Florida. For six summers he attended to the dance direction of the musical plays at the St. Louis Municipal Opera. During the past year he has been engaged in directing U.S.O. camp shows.
