Miss Ethel Waters and the ensemble known as the "Six Spirits of Rhythm," both appearing in "At Home Abroad," now current at the "Winter Garden" are stopping the show each and every trip.

...A CAFE DE LA PIAX...?

Josephine Baker, former chorus beauty who left this country several years ago for Europe, has returned here to take part in the next ”Ziegfield Follies" which is to begin rehearsals at an early date.

The coming edition of the ”Follies” will be under the direction of the Shuberts under the name of the wife of the late ”Flo” Ziegfield.

The ”Truckin’” contest which is being presented each Thursday nite at the Cotton Club under the personal direction of Ralph Cooper has caused plenty chatter up and down the Avenue. On one occasion first prize was won by Bobby Johnson, young brother of Winnie Johnson, one of the Club’s choice chorines.

’Tis rumored that he and big sis are rehearsing an act which will soon be current at the local and out-of-town theatres.

What prompted me to start this cocktail business anyway?

The Theatre Guilds' musical ”Porgy and Bess” offers an evening of grand entertainment. John Bubbles of the team of Buck and Bubbles is attaining new heights in the role of ”Sporting Life,” one of the important roles in the production.

The Smarter Set is getting hip to the International Play Boy’s Social Club at l925-7th Ave. Eddie Cooper, an old time Harlemite, the genial host and President assures you a good time at all times.

If Louis ”Pops" Armstrong don’t stop stealing the shows and programs he is presented on, somebody is going to swipe his trumpet. But who the hell cares. The companies are still making and selling them.

Dink, Blink and Dink, those Dancers Deluxe from the Windy City are pepping things up with the current edition of Smalls Paradise Revue.

It will require a jury to decide whether Willie Bryant or Ralph Cooper should be crowned king of Harlem’s Maestros. Both boys are tops.

Jimmie Basquette is still putting things over in a big way at the Appollo Theatre, sharing laurels with ”Pigmeat" Markham, Harlem's favorite comedienne.

The Nicholas Bros. are doing their stuff nightly at the Cotton Club. These boys have what it takes and really know how to dish it out.

After having just completed a tour that took them through the East and southeast, Noble Sissle and band are now booked for
four (4) weeks of Vaudeville for R.K.O.

Tiny Bradshaw, the lad with the a la Cab personality, is staging a come back. Reports have it that Bradshaw’s new band ranks with the best of them.
