donna, and the Three Kadets, a sensational dancing act...Monday night found the two of us at the Duke Ellington dance, which was given at the Arcadia Ballroom, which is a very attractive ballroom. The dance was well attended by an appreciative crowd. The Duke and Miss Ivie Anderson, as usual rendered numbers that were enjoyed by the enthusiastic crowd...Tuesday found Miss Bobbie Davis (well known singer and dancer), and I at The Fox Theatre, where Fats Waller with his noted Columbia Broadcasting Orchestra, were appearing in person...Midge Williams was the lovely young lady, who was vocalist with Fats, and who shared great honors in the show... Wednesday A.M. found a number of new faces about town, some of whom were outstanding persons in the "profesh," such as: Earl J. Morris, America's No. 1 theatrical writer, Leonard Reed, a producer of producers, who brought in the new revue for the Club Plantation, Dorothy Derrick, the songbird, The Three Stepsons, who put the "R" in rhythm and The Reedettes...P.M. found Miss Ivie Anderson and me, in the Club Plantation. There, too, was the Fats Waller aggregation with their charming ladies...Thursday, was a sight seeing tour, which was interesting as well as intellectual, too many sights to mention...Friday was the day of rest, preparatory to our trip back home...Saturday we departed with pleasant memories of Detroit...The Motor City...As I Saw It.
