THE SHOW-DOWN
ABOUT NEW YORK

HARLEM, NIGHT BY NIGHT
(Continued from page 18)
Those exponents of Al Richard's new and intricate dance routines are: Bertye Boyd, Jessie Mathison, Ruby Vincent, Sue Whaley, Ruth Coleman, Stella Blackmon, Clarice Cooke, Margaret Hart, Helen Randall and Lula Dial.
Music for both, the show and dancing, is furnished by Ferman Tapp and his Small's Paradise orchestra. Musical arrangements are by Thomas Whaley the score "Sugar Hill Jamboree", "Suizi-Q", "Good Little Bad Little Boy", "Perambulating" and "Shuffling." Costumes were executed by La-Ray.
Billy Lankford, who is often referred to as the toast of nite lifers and a strange personality closed a successful engagement at Small's Paradise.
Before opening at Small's Paradise any number of persons were inquisitive to know of him including your writer. I found him to be vivacious with a half hidden ripple of jungle movement. He's neither a great singer or dancer but perhaps one of the greatest night club hosts of today.
After playing a short tour of Theatres he will open the Kit Kat Club.

(Continued from page 18)
Marshall still sailing high. Albert Turp's dancing was clever. Mae West is still getting hers to say nothing of how Jimmy Christian EmCeed the show. Struttin' Sam new to the east was a decided hit. Gee can that boy go... Too he is a singer. Just ask him for your favorite. Larry Merrero's voice was sweet and mellow.
Dropped in on the Kit Kat's show found the Pope Sisters chirping down. Teddy Hale, Jr., is yet stopping shows. Dorothy Rhodes Mistress of Ceremonies Lily Yuen, Jennie Dancer, Dot and Dash, dance team, Dorothy Saulters, clever juvenile dancer, Drusille Drew, Greta Mc Macabee and the tripple player and dancer from Washington all made this revue a 100 per cent production.
Leonard Harper the ace producer of hit shows now producing shows are the Apollo Theatre, is going strong with his new original shows. Overheard a conversation in a Broadway office concerning Harper. "He is the man I need.
Dewey Wineglass, is as great a business man as he was a Russian dancer.
The Blue Jackets, (Tommie, Willie and Baker) were at the Republic when I caught the act going over in a great big way.
Romeo is getting his share of honors at the Covan's Club. Jonnie Tunsill, with her torch singing at the same spot soothes ones nerves with her songs.
Harold Mabin, a dancing Kadet wrote a song recently at Lake George. He can tap off of it too. Jimmy Smith's Band who have been playing at Lake George in the Royal Pine's Club Arque? Both were former members of Cab Calloway's Band. for two years. Is that right
Pauline Bryant, Woods Sisters, Billy Banks and Buddy Doyle, offered classy entertainment to the Apollo patrons with their respective acts. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Adios
