"Miss Mix of 1939"

(Top Left) Miss Fannie Mae Richardson seen receiving her prize trophy that gave her the title of "MISS MIX of 1939" after she polled 157,000 votes in the long drawn out contest conducted by MIX MAGAZINE. Morris G. Little, Editor is seen presenting Miss Richardson the trophy while hundreds look on.

(Top 2nd) Is Miss Martha Vineyard who was crowned "Miss Missouri", pulling in second place with154,000 votes. Miss Vineyard represents the K and K Tavern and was in to win. Miss Richardson excaped by 2,500 votes.

(4th Pix) Indicated by insert, is Jackie Wright who won fourth honors, polling 68,000 votes. Miss Wright represents the Elk Horn Tavern. Many of her loyal supporters are seen at her reserved table.

(5th Pix) Well one can see that Margaret Gaddy, of Gaddy's Bar-B-Q is happy over her victory of winning the 5th place over five other contestants who gave her a hard fight. Margaret polled 49,000. Many of her supporters were on hand to witness the event.

(6) Is Ada Lee Holder who was not in the winning row, but was selected by many admirers as "Miss Personality." This little bronze sepia has plenty of personality. She represents the RED ROSE INN, of E. St. Louis. (Below) is Miss Holder's guest who was on hand to witness this gala contest crowning (the matron, second from left is Mrs. Buster Fulton).

Jesse Johnson scored again. Ella Fitzgerald bought them out alright. Put this down in writing, Johnson says County Basie expects to beat her record. Why don't have of that crowd support our local dances?
