YOU'RE AT THE RING
Since the two popular sportsmen Bill Lynum and William (brother-in-law) Morrow reopened the new RING TAVERN (formerly the Ringside) at Sarah Hodiamont tracks, it has become to be among the popular spots in "midtown" section where the better class meet and greet nightly. The RING TAVERN serves the best in better beers, liquors and wines mixed "as-you-like-em" by Carl (Stein) Johnson, and served by pretty Miss Lois Thomas the waitress, so when you're in "midtown" pay a visit to the RING TAVERN, the celebrities rendezvous.

MO. Boy Wins Legion Honor
CHICAGO- Russell Boone of the drum and bugle corps of the same Tom Powell Post Squadron Sons of American Legion, of St. Louis, Mo., was adjudged the best of the entire corps of male drum majors in the 500 units of the Legion's National Convention 2-hour parade here, Tuesday of last week.

Has Fighting Ancestors
Young Boone, 6 feet 3 inches tall, who was graduated from Summer High School last June, comes from a family of fighting Americans. His grandfather was a Civil War veteran. His father, Judge Boone, served with the Twenty-fifth Regular U.S. Infantry, not only in Hawaii and the Philippine Islands but in France during the World War.
Boone left the Tom Powell Juniors to the Missouri State championship in Joplin, several weeks ago.
Another St. Louis youth to receive high honors was Leman Boler, bugle sergeant of the Tom Powell Squadron, who was presented an expensive bugle for taking fourth place in the national bugle contest in Chicago.
Other prize-winners included the Tillman Harpo Post of Indianapolis, awarded fourth place in the senior drum and bugle corps contest, and Leamon Boler of the Indianapolis Post, fourth prize for individual bugle honors.
