Wed. & Sat. 2:30, $1.20-$4.40. Eves. 8:30, Mon.-Thurs. $1.20-$5.40. Fri. & Sat. to $6. CI 6-5990. Reviewed 10-14-44.

*BLUE HOLIDAY-Some very good performers in a rather indifferent variety show. Ethel Waters, Josh While, Josephine Premice and Mary Lou Williams are all excellent. COMMON GROUND-Serious, disturbing, even passionate, is this examination of one of the confusions which make many Americans easy prey for Fascists. Written and directed by Edward Chodorov. A stimulating but not very satisfying production. Actors Philip Loeb, Luther Adler and Nancy Noland battle hard against playwright Chodorov's static direction. Golden Thea., 45th W. of B'way. Mats. Wed. & Sat. 2:40, $1.20-$3. Eves. 8:40 to $4.20 CI 6-6740. Reviewed 5-5-45.

DARK OF THE MOON-Musical drama based on the Barbara Allen folk song-about a witch boy who loved a Great Smoky Mountain gal. Some good folk-singing, some good theatre; but uneven story and dullish music makes the whole business just so-so. Richard Hart, Carol Stone, Frances Goforth, A. Winfield Hoeny. 46th St. Thea., W. of B'way. Mats. Wed. & Sat. 2:40, $1.20-$3. Eves. 8:40 to $4.20. CI 6-6075. Reviewed 3-24-45.
