Report of Cases of Ill Treatment During the Month of September 1865. Before John C Barnitt Capt & Asst Supt F.M.B. Charlote N.C. Case 1st Dr J Sloan, reported by Girl Melissa for trying to have illicit intercours with her and because she would not consent to such proceeding & Did Beat her with a stick Said Sloan plead Guilty Action Ordered that said Sloan pay to the Girl besides her wages the sum of $10.00. Girl leaving the premises. Case 2" Boy Henry [[?]]. Reported that Messrs Morrison & Crim [[?]] did without cause Beat him with a Stick Action Found on investigation that Boy Henry was a notorious thief & vagabond, and was tresspassing on Mr Morrisons premises Case dismissed. Case 3d James E Huntly reported for strikeing the Negro Girl Jane with a chiar because she was saucy to one of his children. Plead Guilty Action
