Indictment for an assault and battery.- Defendant pleads "not guilty." The following good and lawful men to with: James C. Smith, Evan Hausley, S. M. West, James Nichols, Geo R French, Jas H Alderman, T.J. Bloodworth, John Watkins, C.W. Bradley, Whiteford Bowden, James. Williams and Obed. Scott being chosen sworn and empannelled, say they find the defendant guilty, in manner and form as charged in the bill of indictment.

Judgement of the Court that the defendant pay a fine of One Hundred Dollars: it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the Defendant is unable to pay the fine imposed, the Sheriff is directed to hire out the said Randal Jones, at the Court House door, during the term of this Court, to such person who will pay said fine or the greatest part thereof for the services of said Randal Jones for the shortest space of time, not exceeding five years.
