Lt Kenyon on the night of the 24th inst arrested Reddick Carney, Geo. Alf. Carney and Joe Tom Moore, three of the leaders in the recent outrages here abouts. He took them as far as Pactolus and there they managed to escape from him in Mr Perkins house.

Waiting till about 2 oclock A.M. of the 27th he again surrounded and entered the house of Reddick Carney found men, (how many not known) armed in the upper story, went in, and summoned them to surrender as prisoners. They would not answer or come down. Taking a torch in hand, he attempted to go  up stairs & take them, and was shot severely in the breast the moment he showed himself through the door. Not knowing how large the force was and the neighborhood being aroused he judged it prudent to [[?]]. Lt K was borne in a cart to Pactolus his wounds dressed, and he now lies there awfully but we hope not dangerously wounded. He took a heavy charge of buck shot right through the muscles
