Inclosed is an order from the Bureau of freedmen as in relation to the decision of cross between Mr. Harper Williams and his freedmen giving the hands 2/5 of the crop which includes every thing made. Major Wickersham further directs that everything furnished parishioner and thare dependent upon each who have not worked be deducted from their part. I am further directed, in case the hands will not gather in, to authorize the owner of the lands to employ hands gather in and deduct ^[[insertion]] expenses [[/insertion]] from their position.

Mr. Williams evils notify each of the hands who have worked with him and his lands of the above orders and that they must proceed and gather according to the orders; and if they or any of them refuse, Mr. Williams is hereby ordered to employ a good disinterested man to measure up each crop keep a strict account and house in his barn and I will divide according to the order. If any resistance is offered, Mr. Williams will report to one immediately
