John. F. Sink being duly sworn testifies as follows.

Live with in about a half mile of defendents plantation

states that defendent made about as good a corn crop on his plantation as was made in the settlement, was a large crop of corn made, corn was tolerably good last year in the settlement, also made a wheat crop, sowed in a wheat crop last fall also, The niggroes worked those crops, two white men worked but did not come there until after corn was laid by and after oats harrowed, Defendent had a grain mill, Black smith shop and wood shop carried on his place by his hands. also large stock of fine cattle on his plantation, also two or three colts and a mare. Had some 18 or 20 work mules which he saw the niggers plowing.

Crops examined
A negro ought to raise 20 acres of corn when not worked in a cotton crop, the defenders raised no cotton last year.
