Defendent had some 17 acres of meadow which was mowed by the niggers last year and they also mowed hay in the stubble field. he had as many hoe hands as plow hands.

(Colored) Mumford Hargrave, being duly sworn testifies as follows, lives within a mile of Doct Holts plantation, as far I saw I think he made a very beautiful crop of corn, he also made a crop of wheat and sowed in another crop of wheat last fall, and made some hay.
