William E. Porr, being duly sworn testifies as follows. Where negroes were self supporting the Bureau decided that they would be entitled to one fifth of the crop. where they were not self supporting the propretor would be allowed an allowance for supporting them. I obtained an order for the removal of my negroes on the ground that they refused to hire themselves to me and work for me. Doct Holt offered one hundred dollars in Gold for the removal of his negroes in the month of August, he being present at the time.

Cross examined
The rule of Bureau was, that the planters should feed the hands while they worked with him and allow them one fifth of the crop for their work, if there ^[[insertion]] were [[/insertion]] woman and children in the famalies who did not work, the heads of the famalies were charged with their support.
