Cross examined
I dont believe that Docts Holts negroes worked as well as other negroes. Negroes generally did not work very well last year. Negroes on large plantation did not work as well as on small plantations. Average of corn crop in Jersey settlement one year with another is from 15 to 20 bushels. Doct Holts plantation has not averaged any better than other plantations [[strikethrough]] for [[/strikethrough]] in raising corn for the last few years.

A.H. March being duly sworn testifies as follows. I have nathan & his family in all eleven formerly the slaves of Dr Holt copping for me. they dont half work.
