Mr. Clifford Trevor,
Jacques Seligman & Co., Inc.,
3 East 51st Street,
New York City

My dear Mr. Trevor:

On account of your expert knowledge and wide experience we earnestly desire your cooperation to help us perfect our plans in the preparation of an extensive series of authoritative articles on Antiques.

To find the right person to write the articles in each different division is our problem and we feel sure you can help in its solution, at least insofar as it pertains to French Furniture, by suggesting to us the names of those persons whom you feel are best qualified to write on this particular subject.

Every one selling objects of art in one form or another realizes as we do, that a great deal of the enormous wealth available in this country could be directed into the field of art, both fine and industrial, if the owners of the wealth had a better understanding of what it would buy in the field of valuable antiques.

We believe this series of special articles will do much to bring about this greatly to be desired result. For your information, let us say that the scope of the series will be wide enough to embrace all the major divisions in the field of antiques and will run for a year or longer.

We know of no other magazine which has ever taken up the subject of antiques in so complete a way as ARTS & DECORATION is doing with the series we have mapped out. Nor do we know of any current literature on the subject which is both authoritative and at the same time conducive to the purchase of the articles written about.

Be assured of our most grateful appreciation for whatever cooperation you feel disposed to extend.

I would also like to have your opinion in general on the idea.

Sincerely yours,
