KEY TOP LEVEL MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES

An important aspect of equal opportunity is the ethnic/sex composition of boards, committees, and councils since these groups heavily influence broad policy decisions and Institution management. Groups included in this analysis are: the Board of Regents, the Management Committee, the Council of Bureau Directors, and the Council of Information and Education Directors.

There is some representation of White women, but Black women are the only minority women. Representation of Black and Asian American men is slight. There are no American Indians. Figure 1 shows the ethnic/sex distribution.
