[[underlined]] Goals and Accomplishments [[/underlined]]

Fiscal year 1987 goals were set in the Professional, Administrative, and Technical Occupation Groups based on the degree of underrepresentation and vacancy projections.

Professional goals were not fully met. There were spotty achievements for Black and Asian American men and Hispanic women. Administrative goals were met and exceeded for women and for all ethnic subgroups except Hispanic men. Technical goals were met and exceeded for women and all ethnic subgroups except American Indians.

Disabled Veterans Affirmative Action Program

Disabled veterans represented 5.7 percent of the total civil service work force. Despite a very slight decrease over fiscal year 1986, the Institution remained one of the primary employers of disabled veterans.
