[[underlined]]ANNUAL REPORT FOR 1987[[/underlined]]

Mr. Adams pointed out that copies of the Annual Report were received from the printer in time for distribution to the Regents in advance of the meeting and that additional copies were available on the table.  In accordance with the brief report below, the following motion was approved:

VOTED that the Board of Regents accepts the Annual Report of the Secretary for Fiscal Year 1987.

There will be placed on the Regents' table at the My 9 meeting, if not distributed in advance of the meeting, the Smithsonian's annual report for fiscal year 1987.  Once accepted by the Regents, this report will be mailed to members of the Congress, officials in the Administration, numerous other officials in Washington, the press, and a long list of Smithsonian friends and major donors throughout the nation; additional copies will be sent to local and national Depository Libraries (designed by the Government Printing Office) and others will be sent to museums, government agencies, and a wide variety of domestic and international institutions of learning.  In all, approximately 5,000 copies will be distributed in print and another 4,000 copies will be in microfiche.  

The following motion is proposed:

VOTED that the Board of Regents accepts the Annual Report of the Secretary for Fiscal Year 1987.
