Mr. H. L. Todd have been catalogued on cards as fast as they were completed. During the first ten months 93 drawings were finished. None were done in November, [[strikethrough]] owing [[/strikethrough]] the artist having been employed on economic crustacea, and the few drawings handed in near the end of December were not examined until January, 1883.

Since the work of rearranging the collection of fishes was begun in October more than 10 000 cards have been written, each of which contains the catalogue number, name, locality, name of donor and number of specimens of the species to which it refers, as well as the size of the jar containing it.

b. [[underlined]] Work on Reserve Series. [[/underlined]]

The reserve series is included in the material now undergoing the process of cataloguing and when jars [[strikethrough]] are [[/strikethrough]] were found to need fresh alcohol the change was made. Tank collections which were becoming discolored in tanks not properly tinned have been transferred to new and better containers.
