A collection of great value, containing the following among many other species:

1. [[underlined]]Stenotomus caprinus [[/underlined]]  Bean ( young),

 the singular "Goat's-head Porgy" recently discovered at Pensacola by Mr. Stearns.

2.  [[underlined]] Opisthognathus scaphiurus [[/underlined]] Goode & Bean.

3. [[underlined]] Echeneis albescens  [[/underlined]] Temm & Schleg., 

now for the first time recorded in our waters.

4. [[underlined]] Phycis floridanus [[/underlined]]  Bean & Dresel, a manuscript species, of which a brief diagnosis has been prepared for publication in Proc. Biological Society of Washington, volume II.

5. [[underlined]] Coryphæna equisetis [[/underlined]] L. (? or [[underlined]] hippurus [[/underlined]] L.), 13 examples of rather small size.

6. [[underlined]] Aprion ariommus [[/underlined]] Jor. & Gilb., a species recently described in Proc. Nat. Mus. for 1883, pp 142-143.
