[[strikethrough]]As an Ichthyologist officer of the M.S. Fish commission much of my time has been taken up with the duties concerning the Commission of that office, the correspondence has been large and numerous questions have had to be answered regarding matters fishy.[[/strikethrough]]

I was ordered to join the Grampus in her southern Mackerel fishery investigations, which occupied my time from May 10 to June 15, 1888. Immediately after my return I begun to arrange materials for a report on this cruise, based on the specimens which were transferred to the National Museum.
