A small collection of fishes received [[strikethrough]] found [[/strikethrough]] made in Honduras, Central America by Mr. C. H. Townsend has been examined and reported upon.

Collections of fishes made in Newfoundland and vicinity by the U. S. F. C. Schn. Grampus have been identified, also numerous collections made by the Steamer [[underlined]] Albatross [[/underlined]] off the east coast U. S. have been catalogued and preserved.

Collections have been received [[strikethrough]] and acted upon [[/strikethrough]] from nearly every state and territory in the Union. [[strikethrough]] showing a wide felt and deeply [[/strikethrough]]

Numerous types of new species have been [[strikethrough]] received [[/strikethrough]] obtained, descriptions of which have been published in the Proceedings of the Museum.

Numerous applications for loans of material for study have been received and attended to.
