Lumberton Sept 2nd/65.

This indenture made and entered into this 2nd day of Sept. 1865 between Catharine J Ashley of Robeson Co and Amos, Edmund, Barbara, Clara for self and daughter Lucy, Freedmen, of the above Co witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Said Catharine J Ashley paying the above [[strikethrough]] made [[/strikethrough]] mentioned Freedmen and women at the following rates in current money Viz To Edmund Eleven dollars and his crop. To Amos eleven dollars and his crop. To Clara for self and daughter Lucy, five dollars and her crop. To Barbara five dollars and her crop. They on their part agree to receive the above amount for their labor from 27th Apr. 1865 until date which the said Catharine J Ashley agrees to pay
