Bureau Refugees Freedmen and abandoned Lands. Head Quarters Sub Dist of Robeson
Lumberton Sept 16th 1865

This Indenture made and entered into on the 16th day of Sept 1865 between H. H. Ellis of the first part and the undersigned Freedmen of the second part witnesseth that the said Freedmen to receive the following wages, To Morris his growing crop of corn and potatoes, he left the 1st day of this month. To Charles 10 bushels of corn to the 1st day of Jany A.D. 1866. he the said Charles to receive the usual rations of food, Clothing and ordinary Medical attendance.
