Bureau Reffugees, Freedmen &c
Head Quarters Sub Districk of Robeson
Lumberton Sept 27th 1865

This indenture made this the 27th day of Sept 1865 between J. G. Cobb of the county of Robeson of the one part and the undersigned Freed Laborers of the second Witnesseth that the said Cobb agrees to pay said Laborers the following sums. To William the sum of thirty dollars to Olliver the same. To Stephen for his son Dougald twenty dollars. They to work ten hours per day and obey all lawful command that he may give and to receive the usual rations of food clothing and ordinary medical attendence.
