Lumberton, N.C. [[strikethrough]] Oct [[/strikethrough]] Sept 29th 1865

This indenture made and entered into this 30th day of Sept 1865 between Wesley Price farmer of Robeson County of the one part and Ell Price and Andy Price of the other part, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the following compensation (to wit) To Ell 2 1/2 bushels of corn 1 Hog, 4 barrels of Turpentine, [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] a pair of shoes and 3 bushels of Potatoes, and to Andy [[8 1/2??]] bushels of corn, 1 Hog, 4 barrels of Turpentine, one pair of shoes, and 3 bushels of Potatoes. Then they the said Freedmen covenant and agree and by these presents do bind themselves severally in behalf of themselves to render unto the said Wesley Price true and faithful service obeying all his lawful commands with the same submission and respect which they had done when the slave code was in full force and effect with the exception of Punishments which are not inflicted on white laborers.

The said Wesley Price futher agrees to provide them with comfortable quarters and the usual rations of food and medical attendance if sick, until 1st of January 1866.
