[[underlined]] Election [[/underlined]] Day. Class at M. Large & good, Lunch acorn and Darby. was tooth. Back to N.J. 2.20.  Helena there. Perfect time. R. [[underlined]] There [[/underlined]]. Oh saw chain.  Very late and wakeful night.

[[underlined]] The Ludlow. shawl. [[/underlined]]  Break with children and R. off with D limited - O'Hara came and talked.  Marnie & [[underlined]] McLennan[[/underlined]] at Station Anne B. at Lud, Rest & unpack.  McL. to dine at U. Club.  After in Lud ok.

Tried to fix room & de Butterize it - Missed train and did not go to E. Walpole till 12.30 rather discouraging, Back & at 5.30. Mr. L, not so good.  stayed till 6.30.  I dined here & saw Smiths afterwards read. House of mirth.  Dull & down.

Shopped. AM - and to lunch at Blakes. A. U. in A M. and at four - Mrs Bradley - then Emily Shedman.  Then Uncle Will - jolly dinner with them, Mrs Smith later Forlorn.

Late nite, up and down.  Walk and to lunch with A.B. Long nap.  Miserable  H.C.G at 6. and to dinner with them dull.  no one.
