At about four I went to see Justine Cutting. When I got back I found Mr Cushing and Mr Renalds in the parlor. It was one of the nicest visits I have had. Mr P. talked to Mama. We spoke of New York & the heat then Mr Ronalds asked me if I was enjoying Newport, he said he had heard I was having a beautiful time. than my words. We spoke of the Coaching Parade, of the Gerry's moonlight sail, he said "was I coming?." I told him I was not quite sure yet. He is coming up next week. He said "The deck you knew is to be all lighted up" "I will tell Mama that," I said, "perhaps that will influence her," and he laughed.
