This took place early in the dinner and made me very happy.  So much so that when we came out Esther Hunt who was dining there too complimented me on my looks.

"Its happiness", I said laughing, but I only told her I had enjoyed myself.  No one could quite have understood how, so I said no more.

beach with Mr. Cottenet.  I have not yet quite made him out.  Either there is nothing at all to him or there is a great deal indeed.  There is no in between for him I think.  Harry is a great friend of his and that makes me think there is much underneath.
