You have not kept track of me at all lately old book. I must give you a few points, though there is not much  The thing that gave me most pleasure in Paris was seeing Howard Cushing again  He called twice but left no address on his card, so we could not get hold of him. We were out both times. But Thursday I went to the Louvre as I always do in Paris and who should I see but H. Cushing. He was copying [[strikethrough]] some [[/strikethrough]] a picture by Velasquez and standing way in the corner of one of the big rooms. He half came forward as if he was not quite sure if it was myself, but it attracted my attention

and I went over to him with my hand extended. I was truly glad to see him and he really seemed glad to see me. We had such a nice little talk, very little indeed it was. He said how sorry he was not to have seen me and said he had a sort of feeling I would come to the Louvre. And I asked him about his work and the told me he had eight pictures in the Salon and he is coming back to Newport the 1st of June. He seemed sorry when I told him I would be in Lenox all June, but he said, "You will be back just in time for the bathing", which of course
