We could scarcely believe our eyes.  Alice - Alice who had left us only a week before.  And Mr Morris, we had never heard of him!  What could it mean!  Had the girl gone crazy.  Was she going to break her mothers heart.  Then I remembered a conversation we had had together on the Saturday after the wedding when we were out driving.  It was all a joke.
