I was not a bit surprised when it all came out and how nearly right I had been!

But of course you won't understand that at all. I must go back to the beginning and first tell my side of the story. A week ago Sunday - walking home from church Cornelius said he was lunching out. I said where - "At the Goelets" he answered "Ah for Grace Wilson" and I laughed.

That evening at dinner I said "Who was at the [[strikethrough]] dinner [[/strikethrough]] lunch". " [[strikethrough]] Grace [[/strikethrough]] ^[[Miss]] Wilson" he said in

a very grumpy tone.

"Is that all?" I asked surprised.

"Yes" Mama and I looked at each other and smiled & Mama said "She was afraid to [[srikethrough]] meet [[/strikethrough]] have any one else".
With that the subject dropped. C.V.jr hardly spoke all through the meal and seemed more than usually grumpy.
After dinner we all sat in the library. In a few minutes he said "Papee I would like to speak to you and Mama alone in the other room".

I got up "I will go in the other room" I said & went out terribly excited
