one told Mama last night that all new York was saying it was the most dreadful think of its kind that has ever happened in society.  How much they know, of course we can't tell, but we hear every one is talking about it.

Oh I pray he has not married her yet.  O fear it so.  His eyes had such a strange look to-day.  He was much more cheerful than he has been for a long time.  I feel as if I were looking in a book.  Its terrible.  Mama & Papa have hardly slept the last ten nights.  Everything is wrong.
