to fill an ingot from the Army, Navy and the Marines. Demonstration runs, exercises wherin a plane is sent aloft and brought in by GCA for the edification of those VIP who have heard of us by word of mouth and who were curious to see how this thing worked, were scheduled for tonight for those visiters brought by Captain Jolley. By some curious twist of fate the other crew was to be on duty and hence the one to run the demonstrations. Until tonight, crew #2, the one to which the writer belonged, seemed always to be on duty whenever there are planes to be landed or demonstartions to be given. Not tonight though. I certainly won't complain.

Daylight strike. Fighters escorted the big boys. Report is they kicked hell out of Yokohama.

We [[strikethrough]]caoug[[/strikethrough]] caught it today. Last night the other crew didn't have a chance to demonstrate very much for some reason or another so we were "it" this morning. However it fouled up. Too many fighters flying around the airstrip to make very many trial runs with our assigned airplane. Didn't care very much though.

Read a small write-up of GCA in Radar Magazine. Captain Jolley brought the photographs he took at Oahu. I sure would like to get a complete set of those
