a greater part of the Pacific makes up around here.  The weather ourfit has been replaced three times and at present I understand there are three majors working up there.  All this in an effort to secure better weather information.  I wonder if it is just waiting for a large B-29 raid to go out before it socks in.  It has been quite some time since we have had to land any airplanes.  And speaking of B-29 raids there hasn't been any for several days but I have a hunch the next one will be a hard smash.  Scuttlebut has it that a 1000 plane raid is due tomorrow.

I still haven't found my pen.  I feel lost without it and there's no place where I can buy another.  I misplaced my shirt today - didn't find it until the end of the day.  I think I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body.

This afternoon we worked a P-61 with two P-51's flying off it's wing.

I've settled into what is more ^[[or]] /less a routine.  The nights that I am on duty I polish off any correspondence and write up this diary.  The off nights are occupied by either going to a movie or just hanging around the tent reading or making further housing improvements.
