On duty this evening the wind was out of the south, the wrong direction for [[strikethrough]]lh[[/strikethrough]] landings the way we were facing so it was decided to dispense with practice landings of the Red Patrol of P-61's.

Our ration this week consisted of six cans of Shaeffer beer (at last a respectable brew) and a bottle of coke.

I telephoned Base Weather. Forecast:
Clouds, 1500 feet; visibility, 12 miles. Nothing for us to worry about. The B-29's started going over at 2100 and continued until 2330. Someone is going to catch hell tonight.
