At the New York offices of Pan American Airways System last night Mr. J. T. Trippe, President, made the following announcement:

"Air passenger service between the United States and Europe will be inaugurated by Pan American Airways System on Wednesday, June 28th".

"Passenger service will be instituted between the United  States, Portugal and France, via the Azores, over the route on which Transatlantic air mail service was inaugurated on May 20th."

"The initial schedules for the air passenger service between the United States and the continent will provide a service of 22 hours elapsed time to Lisbon - the first European port of call. For the time being, an overnight stop will be made at Lisbon before proceeding to France." 

"Along with the institution of passenger service to Europe, via the Azores route, direct air mail service will be inaugurated on June 24th to Great Britain and the Irish Free State, via Canada and Newfoundland." 

"This initial flight also will be the occasion for an inspection of the Transatlantic service by Government officials concerned, who will be aboard as obserers."
