It is 5:15 New York time. This is Louis Gimbel talking on the first passenger flight on the Dixie Clipper, which left New York on the 28th of June. I have just spent a very restful night, have finished a good breakfast and am enjoying the conveniences of this most modern clipper beyond all anticipation. To a person never having flown via clipper before, the modern improvements of this ship may not be as apparent as to one who flew the older type ship 6 or 8 years ago. Most amazing is the way the engineers have reduced all sound and vibration. I think the Pan America Airways have outdone themselves in trying to give the passengers the greatest luxury possible on any liner anywhere in the world.

We will be in [[strikethrough]] the hangar [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] ^[[Horta]] [[/insertion]] in a few minutes, and there we will have made our first stop from New York. I believe that this will be the common way to go to Europe, and that every one will eventually use clipper ships to go to Europe, in spite of the fact that the 5 long days on the ocean are enjoyable. If one wants to contact quickly this is the way to do it.
