They spend considerable time apart foraging & exploring within the viveiro. The young infants & juveniles move a lot through thin & mobile support structures, both vertical & horizontal. They eat much banana but Ben also buys & hides (or hangs) quail eggs, ground beef, papaya, orange. And kids are collecting crickets locally & getting paid. Within the viveiro, the animals have collected large roaches, butterflies, crickets (introduced). And thus they spend considerable [[end page]] [[start page]] time searching for food. Search strategies differ, with some individuals stalking quietly &/or waiting (#7) while other individuals chase around at the nearest movement, e.g. they chase all over the cage whenever they see a butterfly. The viveiro is wood support, chicken wire covered - ~45' long x 15' wide x 12' high and full of natural vegetation including several bromeliads which are used for hiding much food to provoke exploratory behavior. Animals explore on floor too & "floor" is one measure of behavior.
