At one point Zeke is nervous that we are lost. Neither of us know the area well, [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] and the map has topographic but no vegetation features. Fortunately, we tend to agree on where we are and on the general direction for movement. [[strikethrough]] After [[/strikethrough]] About 11:30 we actually emerge close to where we entered. 
We were either lucky or smart!

1038 hrs. I see a phyllostomid (artibeus or larger) hanging alone from a palm frond.* Looks extremely heavy. Possibly gravid ♀ I take several shots with flash. Bat flies away after 2nd or 3rd flash. 

*not a spiny palm and @ 2 1/2 m off the ground.
