NARRATIVE: At 25,000 feet an ME-262 approached and passed in front of me to attack the bomber formation. He was about level with me. He was not emitting vapor trails and was well within range when I fired four (4) bursts from 1,000 feet astern of the enemy aircraft. I observed hits on the fuselage of the enemy aircraft. I then broke off. My Element Leader, another pilot in my Squadron and a pilot of the 301st Fighter Squadron saw the ship go down in flames. The jet was camouflaged in black.
