NARRATIVE: After three (3) Me-262's broke at us from 29,000 feet at 1030 o'clock, we broke right and down on them, pursuing them through a series of turns while descending. When I got within 1500 feet, I started firing on the rearmost enemy aircraft. I fired three (3) bursts and my guns stopped. I saw pieces come off the jet and black smoke began to emit from it. I then broke away. I last saw the enemy aircraft at 15,000 feet, going into a dive. The enemy plane appeared to be out of control as it made a couple of turns while diving.
